It’s Memorial Day! The unofficial start of Summer. If you haven’t already polished your toes, now is the time. These Yellow Box dazzling flip flops are in the shape of a cross, which makes them shine even brighter I think.

OUTFIT Try putting a wide cuff in your jeans when you wear flip flips. Sarah Jessica Parker has rocked this style. A fun summer t-shirt and chunky necklace to match complete this relaxed look.

A classic chambray shirt is one of my essentials for Spring/Summer. They are so easy to wear and versatile. Plus I love the front pockets, very useful for holding my key card at work.

OUTFIT I paired my chambray shirt with wedges to give this outfit a bit of a relaxed Earthy Style. Yet it still looks polished and pulled together with pearls.

Savvy Shopper

“Never pay full price.” That’s my friend, Lindsay’s motto. She’s a savvy shopper who has a knack for finding great deals. She is always so fashionable and finds many of her clothes at yard sales—I’m impressed! Today she celebrates her birthday and looks beautiful as usual.

OUTFIT Lindsay snagged these heels at a yard sale for only $2! They go perfect with her purse. Metallics are like neutrals - they go with everything. These silk pants are super chic with an overall pattern that is fun and feminine. She matched the bright blue color at the bottom of the pants with a solid blue silk top that balances this outfit. A gorgeous braclet in the same bright blue helps tie it all together.

Spaced Out

Let your inner nerd out with a cool t-shirt on the weekends. I got this one on a recent trip to the Huntsville Space & Rocket Center where they have Space Camp for all ages. It is the coolest place.

OUTFIT The baseball style t-shirt has blue sleeves which go great with these blue jeans. I picked up the red in the shirt with my shoes. A light grey jacket for those cool mornings and I’m all geeked out!

I’m turning Violet, Violet!

Dress up those capri pants with pumps and a cute blouse. Purple & Blue are next to each other on the color wheel, so they make a great color combo.

Afternoon Tea

Prim & proper and dressed for an outing with the ladies for afternoon tea. Pearls are a must for tea time and this strand is nothing less than a statement. These are not your grandma’s pearls —layer them on thick.

Maxi Dress

A long maxi dress is one of my favorite things to wear during the Spring/Summer months. This black one is 100% cotton, so very comfortable!

OUTFIT Dress up a plain black maxi dress with a wide belt at your waist. And you can throw a blue jean jacket over it to keep it casual and comfortable when the air conditioner is running.

Bow Blouse

What is more girly than a bow? A bow with a bow pattern! This bow blouse is cheeky chic.

Tunic Dress

What you wear says a lot about you. My friend Christa has loads of personality. She’s super sweet and really funny too. She’s always put together when she comes into the office. Her style has some spunk to it, just like her personality!

OUTFIT This tunic dress looks great on Christa. It has a bold Native American pattern, which is really trending right now. It is anchored at the top and bottom by a wide band of black material. She has styled it with some strappy black heels and silver jewelry.

Colorful Cinco De Mayo

I love color! It inspires me everyday. What better day to wear a colorful dress than on Cinco De Mayo! I love mixing colors to create new outfits and using it as a starting point when deciding what to wear.

OUTFIT This colorful patterned dress caught my eye in the store. The large dots are arranged in a zig zag pattern - very graphic. It has pockets, which I love in a dress and looks super cute with a wide stretch belt at the waist. I added a necklace that picks up one of the colors in the dress and kept my shoes neutral.

Men’s Wear

I’m taking some inspiration from Men’s Wear with this outfit. This black pinstriped jacket, belt, and cap toed flat have a masculine feel, without being over the top.

OUTFIT I never get tired of leopard prints and this t-shirt matches perfectly with these Bermuda shorts I already had in my closet. Khaki + Black is a classic color combo.

Shopping Saturday

Hit the shopping mall in comfort and style on the weekends. Here are my top 3 tips for a fun day of shopping.

Shopping Tip #1: Wear comfortable flats. No wedges, heels, or the like. If you are going out all day, your best bet is a flat. 

Shopping Tip #2: Have a plan. Take inventory of your closet beforehand and make a list of your wants/needs before you enter the store. 

Shopping Tip #3: Don’t forget your coupons! There is nothing more frustration than getting to the register and you can’t find your coupons. 

OUTFIT  A chambray shirt with black shorts is stylish without much fuss. Adding brown accessories like a belt and necklace adds enough color, but keeps the color palette toned down.
