Geometric

Bold geometric prints are fun to wear. This dress has random squares within squares. I feel like a Josef Albers painting. I love the colors and the navy cap sleeve. 

OUTFIT With an overall bold pattern like this, keep your accessories simple. This long necklace works well with the neckline and has the same colors as the dress. A nude pump completes the look. You can easily put a navy cardigan over this and some mustard tights for the Fall.

Anniversary Date

This year Matt & I are celebrating 9 years of marriage. I need a special outfit for this special date. I’m going sentimental tonight with this bohemian top & platform wedge sandals. These two items are more than just clothes, they have a story behind them and conjure up many happy memories.

OUTFIT I wore this top on our first date, I also wore it as we set off for our honeymoon on our wedding night. So it is only fitting I wear it on our anniversary too. I’ve paired it with a simple white pencil skirt and these platform wedges which I wore in my best friend’s wedding... BONUS!

Bold Chevron

Chevron—A bold design element, that has a dramatically wonderful aesthetic that never goes out of style. (Charlie Brown has been rocking’ it for years) Chevron has exploded in that last few years, I mean it’s everywhere! Home decor, fashion, books, iPhone cases, etc. You name it, it comes in chevron, just pick your color.

OUTFIT This top, in my opinon, is chevron at its best. High contrast—Black & White. A pair of mint blue skinny jeans and necklace the same color balance it out. Voilà! This trend is not going any where any time soon.

Flower Power

Here’s an easy process I use to create an outfit from clothes you already have in your closet. First start with one item as your inspiration and create the outfit around that piece. It can be a top, pants, shoes, or an accessory. Then work out from there. 

OUTFIT This floral scarf is the starting point for this outfit. I paired it with a yellow cardigan that I had, then added khaki capris and wedges for a neutral bottom. Last, I added a navy bracelet to finish the look.

Classic Cardigan

Putting a solid color cardigan over a dress is one of my favorite looks to wear. It keeps me comfortable in the cube and adds some color to my outfit. This will transition beautifully after work too, as I get ready for my child’s birthday party tonight at Chick-fil-A.

OUTFIT This dress came with a tie. I just moved it to the outside of my cardigan, like a belt. It really pulls the outfit together and draws attention to the waist line.

Professional Inspiration

This look is inspired by some of the fashion blogs I follow. When I saw black & white skirts on pinterest and how cute other ladies had styled it, I wanted to give it a try. This look is professional and fun rolled into one!

OUTFIT Try black & white stripes with a bold bright color to really set it off. I already had this bright orange blazer in my closet which works great. Just add a black shell & pumps and you’ve got a professional look that is fashion forward for the office.

A Fashion Do!

OUTFIT The ruffles on this dress are flowing and feminine. I love how she paired it with this white jacket that has a ruffle detail as well. The nautical stripes are right on trend. Her chunky bracelets and jewelry pick up the metallic in her sandals, helping tie this Easter outfit all together from head to toe. Marvelous Darling!

Statement Necklace

Make a statement with a bold necklace. It has all the bright colors of Spring, which also reminds me of Easter eggs. A statement piece of jewelry is anything that is oversized and bold. It is the focal point of the outfit. Think Jackie O’ signature sunglasses.

Today we’re taking the kids to hunt eggs and hear some bluegrass music at Papa’s church. Easter is a beautiful time to celebrate our risen Savior, the new life of Spring and bright colors. 

OUTFIT Wear a statement necklace with a button up shirt for a more casual look. This mint top & pink jeans are a fun color combo. Today I went with my gold flats and bag with gold trim. Matching your bag with your shoes helps to tie your whole outfit together.

Mad about Plaid

Plaid is a great pattern to wear. This pair has a trendy moto zipper pocket, I love this detail.

OUTFIT A navy top, which I already had, goes great with these plaid pants. Mixing plaid with stripes is also a happening trend. Have fun and go mad about plaid! Let the colors in the pattern be your guide to chose your solid piece and accessories that you pair with it.

Cold Snap

This morning was a surprise with temps in the 30s! My friend and co-worker, Stephanie is ready for it with this fabulous free flowing sweater. It’s perfect for a cool Spring morning. I love how she’s styled it with layered tanks and a long gold feather charm necklace. 

OUTFIT Stephanie layered her tanks with a hint of pink under white. Her necklace picks up the pink in the tank with a dangling charm the same color. Black leggings and tall dark brown boots complete this crisp cozy outfit.

B & W

Black & White go together like Peanut Butter & Jelly. It’s hard to go wrong with this color palette. 

OUTFIT This bold B & W sweater works great over a white button up and black pants. Just throw on some black flats and that’s that! I got this entire outfit at my most shopped store—JCPenny. I love the coupons & deals they have. This sweater was on the $1.97 rack!

Dressy Jeans

Dressy, but still causal. Take a pair of your favorite jeans and add a silk top & heels for a chic relaxed look. Layer two or three necklaces at different lengths for a touch of bling.

OUTFIT  I love this polka dot blouse with the sleeves rolled up. These heels are black patent leather, great for a rainy day.

Khaki Capris

Yes, you can wear capris to work. A khaki pair will give you lots of versatility. They literally go with everything! If you don’t own a pair already, what are you waiting for?

OUTFIT Today I’m wearing a silk red blouse with a fun star pattern. It’s lightweight and shear so I added a scarf since the mornings are still cool.

Safari

I had adventure in mind when I put together this safari inspired outfit. Layering keeps you comfortable in any weather. Go for earth tones, cargo pockets, wide belts and layers.

OUTFIT These olive cargo pants with a drawstring waist are super comfortable. I layered a black t-shirt and scarf under a chambray shirt. Just add some fancy earrings and shoes to help dress it up for the office.

Soft Sweater + Soft Jeans = Cozy Casual. This outfit is so easy to wear and perfect for a school field trip today. 

OUTFIT A solid navy sweater can be paired with so many things. Today, I’m going for comfort with the softest jeans in my closet. Add gold accessories and that’s all you need to look complete this cozy look.

Polka dots are a fun pattern to wear. I love this two toned scarf with two different polka dot patterns. 

OUTFIT  The colors in the scarf are the inspiration for the outfit. If you have a scarf and not sure what to wear with it, just pull solid color pieces from your closet to pair with it.

Play Ball!

I’m ready to head to the ball field. This casual look is great for weekends. Comfortable, cute, and stylish to boot.

OUTFIT A vintage baseball t-shirt with weekend jeans and flats is simple + cool. Add a light jacket, incase it gets cold and windy at night. This one is military style, very chic.

Wild Thing!

Wild Thing...you make my heart sing! You may already know, I love leopard. So when I “spotted” these black leopard jeans, I had to have them.

OUTFIT With pattern on the bottom, I went with a solid on top. Bright blue really pops next to black. These strapped heels have just the right flare to make this outfit sing! I added a black necklace to help draw your eye up and balance it out.

OUTFIT The feminine bow at the neckline of this dress makes it extra sweet and girly. She paired it beautifully with a navy blazer & handbag. The blazer has a small polka dot print - love this detail. A light tan wedge sandal completes the look.

I love Spring. Warm weather makes me feel like dancing! Put the heavy coats away and bring out the open toed shoes.
